Z-Library will launch a paperback book exchange service among users

The e-book website Z-Library has announced that it will develop a paperback book exchange service for its users. Users who have unused books can provide them to those who need them. To do this, Z-Library needs to establish dozens of book collection and storage points called “Z-Points” around the world. Book owners willing to share their unused books can send them (by mail) to the nearest Z-Point, which will then send the books to users in need.

Z-Library hopes to collaborate with libraries and individuals worldwide to establish Z-Points. These points will be responsible for receiving books, recording information, storing and sending books, as well as organizing activities. The website is seeking support from these libraries and individuals.

We are pleased to announce that we are developing a new service for exchanging paperback books among users. Books you have read should not gather dust on your bookshelf – instead, they can be given a second life in the hands of new readers! This helps preserve literary heritage and spread knowledge and ideas contained within books to more people.

But how can we make the process of exchanging books between users from around the world as simple, safe, and efficient as possible? To address this issue, we want to organize “Z-Points” – collection and storage points for books that will serve as a link between those who share their books and those who need them. Book owners willing to share can send their books to the nearest Z-Point in their area. Those who need access to these shared books will be able to receive them from these points.

What are “Z-Points” and what is their purpose?

Receive mailed-in book submissions
Record received books. We’ll make this process as easy as possible by simply uploading photos or scanning barcodes (ISBN codes) of each received book.
Long-term storage of received books (some may not be needed for years)
Distribute donated/shared/collected/saved/purchased/etc. paperbacks

Our goal is to organize dozens of Z-Points worldwide, but we need your help! If you’re ready to perform Z-Point functions or know how they work best organized please contact us at support@z-lib.se with subject line “Z-Point.”

We’re looking for:

Public or university libraries capable of performing Z-point functions
Services that can handle receiving, sorting, shipping fulfillment 3PL etc.
Individuals prepared to personally organize or conduct Z-point activities

Can you help or do you have any ideas? Please email us at support@z-lib.se with subject line “Z-Point”.
