Amazon plans to invest $150 billion in data centers over the next 15 years. The company aims to expand its existing data centers and build new facilities to meet the potential growth in demand for artificial intelligence services and other digital services. These investments began two years ago and involve facilities in countries such as the United States, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia. Amazon will also consider local power supply as data centers are significant consumers of electricity. Earlier this month, Amazon took over a data center from a US energy producer in Pennsylvania, which is located next to a nuclear power facility.
