The Microsoft Edge browser Canary version has launched an option to block automatic playback of web audio and video media. You can access the edge://settings/content/mediaAutoplay page and select “Restrict” (Block) to enable it.
This feature is gradually being rolled out to Canary users and may take a few days to appear.
