Microsoft recently announced that the preview version of Outlook for Windows will add support for third-party email accounts. Google’s Gmail will be the first to receive support, and Google Calendar and Contacts will also be supported simultaneously. Microsoft revealed that it will soon add support for Yahoo and iCloud, as well as the ability to connect mailboxes through IMAP. Users only need to select the “Add Account” option at the bottom of the folder window to start adding a Gmail account. This can also be done in account settings.
Microsoft will also bring many personalized and customizable options, a brand new calendar interface, offline mailbox support, native ICS file type support and other new features to Outlook for Windows in future updates.
