Google: Chrome 113 now supports WebGPU API by default

Google announced that the WebGPU API is now available by default in Chrome 113 beta. WebGPU is a new web standard and instruction set developed by companies such as Google, Apple, Mozilla, and Microsoft for hardware-accelerated graphics and computing. Like DirectX, Metal, and Vulkan, WebGPU allows rendering directly on the graphics processing unit (GPU) and can access more advanced features (unlike WebGL). WebGPU promises to reduce JavaScript workload for the same graphics and improve machine learning model interfaces by over 3 times. It is used for high-performance 3D graphics and data parallel computing on the web.

WebGPU supports macOS, Windows PC with DirectX 12 support, and ChromeOS with Vulkan support. Google says that support for Android and Linux is coming soon.
