Google CEO Sundar Pichai told the Wall Street Journal that Google plans to add conversational AI features to its Google search engine in response to competition from ChatGPT and Bing. He also refuted the idea that chatbots pose a threat to Google’s search business. When asked why the company didn’t release chatbots earlier, Pichai said that Google is still trying to find the right market. He said, “We’re iterating to deliver something given where the industry is at, and timelines may change.”
It should be noted that Pichai did not explicitly state whether or not he will integrate Google Bard into Google Search – in addition to Bard, Google Brain AI team is working with DeepMind on another new project called Gemini.
