WhatsApp appears to be developing a new group voice chat feature. In WhatsApp’s Beta 2.23.7.12 version, users can click on a new “sound wave” icon at the top of the WhatsApp group window to initiate a voice group chat. The sound wave status will be displayed during the conversation to indicate that the call is in progress.
WhatsApp and Meta have not yet commented on this feature.
