Scrcpy, an Android screen mirroring tool, has a new feature: real-time audio forwarding

Scrcpy, a cross-platform open-source screen mirroring and casting software, has recently received an update with the release of Scrcpy 2.0. One of the major highlights of this new version is the introduction of real-time audio forwarding support for Android 11+ devices. With this feature, it is possible to stream and record audio from connected Android devices to hosts without any noticeable delay.

For Android 12 and higher versions, audio forwarding functionality comes out-of-the-box. However, for Android 11 devices, users must unlock their screens when starting Scrcpy in order to successfully capture audio. Additionally, Scrcpy now supports H.265 and AV1 encoding if the device supports it. Audio forwarding functionality does not support Android 10 or earlier versions.

In summary: Scrcpy is a cross-platform application that allows users to mirror/cast their Android device’s screen via USB or TCP/IP connection on Linux, macOS and Windows devices. This app enables smooth control over an Android phone through a PC.
