Microsoft will add a new utility called “Registry Previewer” to its Windows utility set PowerToys. The interface of the tool is shown in the picture above. It is reported that this tool will provide a more user-friendly UI interface to facilitate editing Windows registry files (.reg), and it will also provide functions such as writing changes to the registry at once, quickly opening the registry editor, viewing the registry tree, and watching real-time changes. In addition, PowerToys will also add an option in its right-click menu to quickly open .reg files in the “Registry Previewer” tool.
Microsoft has not yet announced when Registry Previewer tool will be released.
