The AI drawing service Midjourney has suddenly terminated its free trial service, citing concerns of potential abuse. David Holz, the CEO of Midjourney, stated that the platform’s own defense measures were insufficient to protect against “abnormal demand and trial abuse.” The company is concerned that hostile actors may use images generated by Midjourney to create objections. This means that users will need to pay $10 per month in order to use Midjourney.
Microsoft recently launched their own AI image generation service called “Image Creator,” which can be used for free.
