Google has removed the Pinduoduo shopping application from the Google Play Store. The app is no longer searchable on Google Play.
Google stated on Tuesday that it is investigating the matter and has suspended the Play Store version of Pinduoduo as a security precaution. Google said that Google Play Protect enforcement has been set up to block installation attempts of these identified malicious applications, and users will receive warnings and be prompted to uninstall the application if a malicious version of the app is downloaded on their device.
The US version of Pinduoduo, known as Temu, is not affected and can still be downloaded.
