LayerX, a financial technology company based in Tokyo, has stated in its job advertisements that applicants must be able to use OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Notion’s AI tools, and that they will be tested on this. Interviewers will evaluate the ability of applicants to ask questions to AI chatbots, and will also require them to conduct research on the limitations of AI technology.
Takaya Ishiguro, HR director of LayerX, said that while ChatGPT is not perfect, “being too afraid of new technology is also dangerous.”
This appears to be the earliest known company to explicitly require “AI application skills” from its employees.
