Improvement to the “Recent” Page in Microsoft 365 Android App: Quick Jump to Recent Files

Microsoft has announced a new feature for the “Recent” tab in Microsoft 365 for Android app, which displays a list of the user’s recently opened files and now supports quick jumping to the most recently opened file. In addition to Microsoft’s first-party applications, it also supports quick access to files opened in third-party applications such as WhatsApp and Gmail, without the need to launch the source application.

Microsoft stated that this feature is available to Android preview experience users of Microsoft 365 v16.0.16227.20076 or higher, and it will be rolled out in stages. Microsoft also reminds users that “you may need to close and reopen the app several times for this feature to work as expected.”
