Enabling the Built-in Acrobat PDF Reader in Edge Browser

Microsoft has rolled out a new built-in PDF reader based on the Adobe Acrobat PDF engine to all Edge users through an update for Edge 111.

However, the activation of this PDF reader is being gradually rolled out to users, and many have not yet received it. But you can now activate the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader in Edge browser by enabling a flag. Here’s how:

  1. First, update your Edge browser to the latest version 111.0.1661.44 (or higher).
  2. In the browser address bar, visit: edge://flags/#edge-new-pdf-viewer
  3. Enable “New PDF Viewer” and restart the Edge browser.
  4. Open any PDF file, and you will see the “Powered by Adobe Acrobat” watermark badge in the bottom right corner of Microsoft Edge, indicating that it has been successfully enabled.
