Microsoft has released a script that can fix the BitLocker bypass security vulnerability (CVE-2022-41099) in WinRE. Hackers can exploit this vulnerability to bypass BitLocker and access system storage devices or even encrypted data.
The following two scripts are available for download:
- PatchWinREScript_2004plus.ps1: for Windows 10 version 2004 and later, as well as Windows 11 systems.
- PatchWinREScript_General.ps1: for Windows 10 version 1909 and earlier, as well as Windows 11 systems.
