Global PC Monitor Shipments Hit Historic Low in Q4 2022

According to the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC), global PC monitor shipments fell to a historic low of 30.5 million in Q4 2022, down 18.3% year-on-year. This is the lowest Q4 shipment volume recorded since 2008.

In the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to work from home, leading to a surge in demand for PCs and monitors. However, as the world gradually emerges from the pandemic and the technology industry continues to stagnate, market demand has rapidly contracted.

IDC predicts that the monitor market will not rebound this year and is expected to contract by another 9.8%. However, a slight recovery is expected in 2024, which will bring shipments back above pre-pandemic levels. After that, the shipment level is expected to stabilize.
