Spotify says it delays launch of HiFi high-fidelity feature

Spotify co-president Gustav Söderström said that due to changes in music streaming industry landscape Spotify has delayed its plan for lossless audio service Spotify HiFi.He said “We want do this thing in way that makes sense cost-wise for us too.For obvious reasons I can’t comment on our label agreements or what other players industry are doing.”

It is reported that Spotify employees internally can already use HiFi.This executive also confirmed that Spotify HiFi will launch at “some point”.

Spotify announced last year that it would launch Spotify HiFi service which has yet debut.Observers believe this may be because Spotify faces fierce competition from rivals such as Apple Music Amazon Music HD Tidal etc.especially Amazon Apple both offer lossless audio features free charge.While Spotify originally planned charge extra fee for this feature.
