Microsoft has just fired its entire ethics and society team under the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) division as part of its plan to lay off 10,000 employees this year. The fired employees stated that the team was vital in ensuring that the company’s AI principles were reflected in its products and services.
Last week, Microsoft also laid off 689 employees across several offices in Seattle. The affected departments included Visual Studio for Mac, Entertainment & Devices, Azure Edge + Platform, and more.
