Microsoft Says New Bing Based on GPT-4 Doesn’t Support Image Uploads Due to Insufficient GPUs

Microsoft has just confirmed that the new Bing is running on OpenAI’s recently released GPT-4 model. Therefore, the new Bing is the best way to experience and use GPT-4 for free. One new feature introduced by GPT-4 is the ability to accept both text and image inputs, but the new Bing currently does not support image uploads.

Microsoft’s Advertising and Online Services Manager, Mikhail Parakhin, responded to this issue by stating that the feature is not currently supported due to the need for additional GPUs. However, he also hinted that Microsoft is preparing to add hardware to support this feature.

“It’s much more expensive and we need to first widely promote the current features. All of this is being done to introduce more GPUs,” said Mikhail Parakhin (@MParakhin).

Mikhail Parakhin also revealed that the new Bing will significantly improve response times to queries, providing users with a quick “ask and answer” experience.
