Microsoft improves AppLocker feature: easier to deploy on Win11 and Win10

From now on, IT administrators can freely deploy AppLocker (application control policy) on Windows 11 and supported Windows 10 versions without having to worry about the version or management method. Because Microsoft has improved the AppLocker feature. Microsoft has removed the checks that were previously enforced based on the Windows version or management method used.

Windows updates on and after September 30, 2022 make significant changes to AppLocker support. Before the update, Windows linked policy enforcement to the Windows version and method used to manage its endpoints. For example, systems managed by Mobile Device Management (MDM) enforced AppLocker policies on all versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. In addition, systems managed by Group Policy only enforced AppLocker policies on Windows 10 and Windows 11 Enterprise or Education editions.

These updates remove the version check for Windows 10, v2004, 20H2 and 21H1 as well as all versions of Windows 11. You can now deploy and enforce AppLocker policies for all these Windows versions regardless of their version or management method.
