Microsoft announces free Outlook client for Apple Mac users

Microsoft announced that it is offering its Outlook client for free to Apple Mac users. Mac users can now use Outlook without having to purchase an Office license or Microsoft 365 subscription. Outlook for Mac is a native Mac application, not a Progressive Web App (PWA), and Microsoft claims it offers faster sync speeds, better performance, and enterprise-grade security.

Outlook for macOS supports email accounts such as Outlook.com, Apple iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, and IMAP. This is a significant improvement over the Windows version, which doesn’t support these accounts and is only a PWA.

The new version of Outlook for Mac offers built-in calendar, widgets, support for macOS notifications, dark mode, customizable toolbar, syncing drafts with iOS version, undo send, schedule send, and Microsoft will introduce new features such as peek view menu bar and Outlook Profiles.
