According to Bloomberg, Meta is set to launch another large-scale layoff soon, potentially starting as early as this week, with thousands of employees forced to leave the company, especially those considered “non-essential to the entire team.” Meta has asked its directors and vice presidents to compile a list of personnel that can be let go without significant impact on the company. Employees at Meta are reportedly anxious about potential layoffs, causing low morale within the company.
Meta laid off around 11,000 employees at the end of last year, setting a record for the company’s largest layoff to date. In February 2023, Meta rated the performance of thousands of its employees as unsatisfactory to encourage them to leave voluntarily.
