BlueMail’s iOS update rejected by Apple over concerns of generating inappropriate content

Ben Volach, the developer of the third-party email client BlueMail, claims that Apple has prevented the update of BlueMail for iOS. Apple is concerned that the new ChatGPT-AI feature of the app could generate adult content. Apple requires him to set the age restriction of 17+ to protect underage users. The developer’s public refusal from Apple is “Your application contains AI-generated content, but there does not seem to be content filtering at this time.”

As ChatGPT becomes increasingly popular, BlueMail has added an AI feature to its latest version, which allows users to copy and paste text from old emails into new ones. Apple responds that it is investigating the developer’s appeal.
