A recent New York Times opinion piece titled “You Should Have More Sex” revealed that a comprehensive social survey in 2021 showed that more than a quarter of Americans had no sex at all in the past year. Women may have less sex than men. In 2021, about 25% of women under 35 said they had not had sex in the past year, compared to 19% for men. This was the highest proportion of no-sex life in the history of the survey.
The article called on people who are able to enjoy sex as often as possible to ease anxiety, loneliness and promote physical and mental health.
