Storing files on YouTube as unlimited cloud storage

Independent developers are trying to use YouTube as unlimited cloud storage. DvorakDwarf used his proof-of-concept code to encode binary files into video files, and then upload the “videos” to YouTube. The resulting videos look like no-signal screens on black-and-white TVs. The size of the videos is about four times that of the original files, and the developer’s README file also explains how the code files avoid being affected by YouTube’s compression algorithm.

But these “videos” may be deleted for violating YouTube’s rules.
