软餐获悉，加密邮件服务商 Proton 为 Proton Mail Bridge 应用程序发布了更新（官网下载）。新版本比带来了重大的性能改进，同时首次针对 Apple Silicon 处理器进行了优化。
Proton Mail Bridge 是什么？作为加密邮箱 Proton Mail 的用户，他们不仅希望在网页或手机上使用该服务，还希望在传统的电子邮件客户端（Apple Mail 、 Outlook 或 Thunderbird 等）上访问它，但由于 Proton Mail 添加了端到端加密，这些传统的桌面邮件客户端并不支持解密邮件数据。于是，官方又开发了 Proton Mail Bridge，它与传统邮件客户端配合使用，来实现收发邮件。 Proton Mail Bridge 适用于 Windows 、 macOS 和 Linux，但仅适用于 Proton Mail 付费客户，不适用于 Proton Free 用户。
Proton 声称，Proton Mail Bridge 新版本同步收件箱数据的速度比旧版本快了 10 倍。发送大附件邮件也比以前快了三倍，并且登录也快了很多。
