NordPass has announced that it now supports passwordless login with Passkeys. The feature is available on NordPass desktop client, web vault, and Firefox and Chrome extensions. NordPass plans to introduce support for Safari extension later this year.
NordPass is a password manager launched by Nord Security, the developer of NordVPN VPN, in 2019.
Passkeys utilize a public key system. When users set up a new account or switch an existing account to Passkeys in a service, a public key and a private key are created. The public key is stored by the relevant service, and the private key is stored on the user’s device, which is never shared with the site or service. This effectively avoids the risk of account hacking that is prevalent in traditional password methods.
